About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Science Support Worker to join our team at North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust in the Cellular Pathology Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake data entry tasks, inputting patient and specimen information into the pathology specific computer systems
  • Competently deal with all sample types received into the department, including those which may carry transmissible infection risks and follow the appropriate protocols for handling such specimens
  • Participate in the storing, retrieving and disposal of specimens and specimen records in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures
  • Undertake "house-keeping" duties as necessary, including cleaning, basic maintenance of equipment and support the maintenance of stock levels
  • Support dispatch of samples to other laboratories which may have complex requirements
  • On a rotational basis, the post holder will carry out the role of MDT co-ordinator, where patient reports and specimens need to be collated in line with tight timescales

Requirements
  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (or NVQ level 2) including: Maths/English/Science
