Job Description

The successful candidate will work closely with the Commanding Officer and Head of Establishment to undertake a wide range of security and IT management duties. This will include:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Obtain, assess, and disseminate as appropriate intelligence gathered from various sources, including the Ministry of Defence and Civil Police.
  2. Develop and implement security planning for the Garrison, including Counter Terrorism and Anti-terrorist security measures.
  3. Ensure the physical security of barracks, armouries, and ammunition compounds.
  4. Lead on document and equipment security.
  5. Provide briefings to units and personnel on security.
  6. Oversee Garrison vetting and pass issue, and act as the sponsor for the National Vetting Service.
  7. Conduct yearly assurance assessments and inspections.
  8. Escalate security incidents when required.
  9. Be the focal point of contact for all issues relating to Military Aid to the Civil Authority.
  10. Act as the overarching IT Officer for the Garrison.
  11. Assume the establishment security officer role for Waterloo Lines and units as required.
  12. Control access to the relevant IT infrastructure.

This role requires a flexible approach, with a requirement to be in the office 3 days a week. There may also be a need for UK and wider travel, which may require overnight stays/time away from home.
