Job Title: Head of Investment

Q Networkers Ltd is seeking an experienced Head of Investment to lead our Investment Specialist Team and Appointed Investment Adviser Solutions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will oversee and manage the Investment Specialist Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality investment solutions to our clients. This will involve managing team members, overseeing risk mapping, external performance reporting, investment process updates, and communication of changes to these solutions.

As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Head of Investment will be involved in the development and oversight of new and existing propositions, feeding into the investment process and output. The role requires knowledge of portfolio construction and the ability to interpret economic and market data to effectively articulate investment strategy to financial advisers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Investment specialists, with regular reviews and feedback.
  • Chair the Appointed Investment Adviser solutions, providing a process to onboard and review these on an ongoing basis, feeding back information to the Governance committee.
  • Oversee regular updates with the Sales and Investment Teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Deliver investment process and update presentations to Financial Advisers over video call or in person, effectively articulating investment strategy.
  • Build and develop quarterly investment presentations and reports, including those with an ESG focus, highlighting key market trends and insights.
  • Respond to financial adviser queries by email/phone effectively, competently, and in a timely manner, providing clear and concise information.
  • Construct technical presentations for use at the internal weekly investment committee, showcasing market analysis and portfolio performance.
  • Basic regulatory understanding of MiFiD, SFDR, SDR & Consumer Duty and its relevance to Model Portfolios and Funds, ensuring compliance and adherence.
  • Understand multi-asset solutions, the dynamics of portfolio construction, and be able to articulate this with understanding of global markets, providing valuable insights to clients.
  • An understanding of the workings of our platforms and close working with our operations team to deliver service to our IFA users, ensuring seamless integration and support.
  • Support the other Investment Specialists in running data reports for all external reporting tools, such as FE Analytics, O&M, Selecta pension, Defaqto, Dynamic Planner, Morningstar, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Understanding of risk mapping and risk profiling for investment offerings, ensuring a thorough understanding of market risks and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Experience managing a small team, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
  • Confident presenting to groups in person and over Teams / Zoom, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of equity/bond market dynamics, with a solid grasp of economic data and its impact on markets.
  • Understanding of regulation regarding MiFiD II & Consumer duty, with a basic understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Minimum 5 Years investment experience, with a strong background in investment management and portfolio construction.
  • Bloomberg / Factset / Morningstar experience, with a solid understanding of investment tools and platforms.
  • Investment Management Certificate (IMC), with a strong understanding of investment principles and practices.
  • ESG Qualification (CFA or CISI), with a solid understanding of environmental, social, and governance factors in investment decision-making.
  • CFA Level I or equivalent, with a strong understanding of investment analysis and portfolio management.
