In this position, you will spearhead initiatives concerning access to healthcare services and treatments, focusing on the availability of pharmaceuticals, genetic assessments, and innovative care frameworks. You will keep a close watch on the policy landscape and regulatory frameworks, formulate policy stances, and collaborate with external stakeholders to enhance the accessibility and availability of treatments and clinical research.
Your role will involve working closely with internal teams to improve the accessibility of clinical trials. This includes evaluating policy challenges, proposing solutions, and drafting briefing documents for senior management.
Engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and individuals affected by MND, is essential. You will also coordinate with organizations such as the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), and NHS England, articulating the MND Association's positions through policy documents, briefings, and reports.
Moreover, you will contribute to our public affairs and advocacy initiatives. This encompasses conducting research, generating policy reports, and organizing consultation meetings, seminars, and conferences.
What are we looking for?
We seek a knowledgeable and seasoned professional with a comprehensive understanding of the policy landscape surrounding access to treatments and healthcare models. Familiarity with organizations such as NICE, MHRA, and NHS England is crucial.
You should possess a proven history of analyzing and addressing policy challenges related to research, treatment access, and social support. Experience in conducting outcome-oriented policy research and developing policy initiatives is vital.
Exceptional communication, reporting, negotiation, and influencing skills are required, along with strong analytical capabilities to understand complex policy issues and devise effective solutions.
You must excel in planning, managing tasks, and adhering to tight deadlines, functioning both independently and collaboratively. A quick learner who can swiftly grasp new policy areas, you should also share our commitment to fostering social change and inclusion in alignment with the MND Association's vision and mission.
