We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Engineer to join our team at the RNLI. As a key member of the Regional Technical team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of our lifesaving services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support to coastal staff and volunteers, ensuring rapid and effective resolution of technical queries.
- Collaborate with regional teams to develop common ways of working, ensuring regulatory compliance and conformance to central governance and guidance.
- Ensure that engineering design intent remains in accordance with engineering design authority processes and standards.
- Track and manage engineering assurance status report actions, progressing resolution of issues and planning technical investigations, troubleshooting, trials, and analysis of data.
- Be an integral part of the Regional Technical Cell, undertaking other ad hoc duties as required.
You will have a strong background in engineering, ideally from a maritime sector, with experience in supporting documentation and processes across the engineering lifecycle. You will be able to handle time-dependent demands, ensuring our lifesaving assets remain on service. You will also be currently residing in the North and East region.
We are looking for someone with an Engineering Qualification level 6 in England or equivalent, with a strong expectation to achieve Engineering Council registration at Engineering Technician level. Health & Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely) is desirable. Regular travel across the region and presence in the Regional Office in Thornaby, Stockton on Tees is required, with occasional travel to the Coast and other operating areas.
