Family Therapist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highly Specialist Systemic Family Psychotherapist to join our team at the Transformation Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health assessment and intervention services to children and young people and their families and carers.
Job OverviewThe post holder will work as an autonomous clinician to provide accessible, high-quality mental health assessment and intervention services that are sensitive to the cultural, ethnic, religious, contextual, family, and developmental needs of children and young people. The post holder will also provide brief interventions and outreach work to children and young people presenting with acute psychological and mental health problems.
Main Duties of the Job- Provide mental health assessment and intervention services to children and young people and their families and carers.
- Develop and implement risk management plans for children and young people.
- Provide brief interventions and outreach work to children and young people presenting with acute psychological and mental health problems.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals to provide a comprehensive service to children and young people and their families and carers.
- Postgraduate qualification in family/systemic psychotherapy.
- Registration as a systemic psychotherapist with UKCP or equivalent body.
- Qualification in a relevant profession such as social work, nursing, psychology, or the equivalent.
- Training in systemic supervision and consultation.
- Interest in working with young people in crisis and their families/carers.
- Demonstrable experience of work with children and adolescents in a mental health or equivalent setting.
- Commitment to and experience of multi-disciplinary working.
- Experience of supervision or consultation.
- Experience of research and audit.
- Experience or interest in running Multi Family Therapy groups (MFT).
- Experience of teaching and training in systemic psychotherapy.
- Evidence base in relation to child and adolescent mental health.
- Research methodology at post-graduate level in relation to children and adults with mental health and social problems.
- Understanding of the impact of abuse, trauma, and other adverse experiences on children and families.
- Legislation and DOH guidelines relevant to child and adolescent mental health.
- Child protection policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of specialized systemic family therapy with vulnerable families.
- Knowledge of highly specialized psychological therapies and assessment methodologies.
