Veterinary Surgeon

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Swift Referrals and Emergencies, a specialist-led referral and emergency hospital located in West Yorkshire. As a Night Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a crucial role in providing gold standard care to our inpatients and supporting our Referral Clinicians in their work.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding role that requires experience treating common small animal first-opinion medical and surgical emergencies. As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will be responsible for consulting, performing first-opinion emergency surgery and procedures, and providing inpatient care. You will work predominantly on a sole charge basis, but will have the support of our on-call referral clinicians and experienced nursing team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, including consulting, surgery, and inpatient care.
- Work collaboratively with our Referral Clinicians to provide round-the-clock gold standard care to our inpatients.
- Support our nursing team in providing exceptional patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Experience treating common small animal first-opinion medical and surgical emergencies.
- Further qualifications in emergency and critical care - or an interest in pursuing these in the future - would be desirable but not essential.
We offer a competitive base salary, generous CPD allowance, and access to the IVC Evidensia Academy. You will also benefit from private medical insurance, birthday leave, and a range of other benefits. Our typical night vet rota consists of 7 nights on, 14 nights off on a rolling basis, but we are happy to discuss alternative schedules if desired.
