Assistant Project Estimator - RGB Recruitment

We are excited to present an opportunity to join a prominent construction firm, engaging in a variety of stimulating projects on a long-term basis.

Your role will involve supporting the financial management of projects, including new constructions and renovations across sectors such as Education, Commercial, Retail, Leisure, and Healthcare.

This is a unique chance to work with a contractor that boasts a robust pipeline of engaging projects, emphasizing local operations and valuing their workforce as a key element of their success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for construction initiatives.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and compile bills of quantities (BOQ) for materials, labor, and other project expenses.
  • Support the procurement process for subcontractors, suppliers, and materials, ensuring adherence to project specifications and budgetary limits.
  • Monitor and manage project expenditures, including variations, change orders, and progress payments, to maintain financial oversight and precision.
  • Collaborate with the project team to review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in the valuation of completed works and the certification of payments to subcontractors in line with contractual agreements and project milestones.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to evaluate progress, quality, and compliance with specifications, identifying any potential issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation related to quantity surveying activities, including contracts, correspondence, and financial reports.

Qualifications:

  • A qualification in Quantity Surveying or progress towards it.
  • Experience in construction or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities, with a capacity for precise calculations and cost analysis.
  • A valid driving license.
