Job Title: Senior Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Engineer to join our team at Copello. As a key member of our aerospace and defence team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head of Airworthiness and Safety in maintaining and monitoring our Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure compliance with aerospace regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on product safety matters to project teams, ensuring safety requirements are correctly defined, recorded, and met.
  • Conduct and guide safety management activities, including safety reviews and audits.
  • Represent the Safety department at customer and internal design reviews.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Encourage and manage proactive safety reporting within our Just Culture.
  • Assist the Head of AW&S in developing and implementing in-house safety management training across the organisation.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in safety engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Knowledge of safety engineering in design, including Def Stan and/or Mil Std 882.
  • Experience working with ARP 4754 and ARP 4761.
  • Advanced report writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced decision-making and problem-solving skills.
