GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Secondary Mathematics Educator to join our esteemed client schools in Basingstoke. The role involves delivering exceptional Mathematics education to secondary students, crafting engaging lesson plans, and tracking student performance. The educator will follow the national curriculum and employ diverse teaching strategies to facilitate effective learning for all students. As a vital member of the Mathematics department, collaboration with the Head of Faculty is essential. The institution emphasizes the importance of fundamental skills, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving, which are core to its educational philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, prepare, and implement Mathematics lessons that comply with the national curriculum and cater to individual student needs.
  • Utilize various instructional methods, including lectures, collaborative projects, and hands-on activities, to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assessments, homework, and examinations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and their families regarding academic performance, highlighting areas for improvement and strategies for success.
  • Incorporate technology and additional resources to enrich the educational experience.
  • Engage in extracurricular initiatives, such as mathematics competitions, clubs, and educational trips, to inspire and motivate students.

Qualifications:

  • Teaching certification or qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • Previous experience teaching Mathematics to secondary school students.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Current DBS on the Update Service.
  • Willingness to work in an SEN setting.
