About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Fitter - Plant and Cable Specialist to join our team at SSE PLC. As an Electrical Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, and busbars, up to 400kV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, and busbars, up to 400kV.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections and defect repairs.
  • Assist with construction works and ensure best value for money.
  • Ensure safety is the top priority and maintain high standards of work.
  • Participate in standby duties for faults work and ensure compliance with regulatory rules.

Requirements

  • Experience of working on the electrical network, ideally dealing with LV and HV plant maintenance.
  • Hold a Mechanical or Electrical background with a proven track record of working in HV with a Transmission company.
  • City and Guilds Part 232, SVQ 3 Level Electrical apprenticeship or SVQ level 3 Mechanical apprenticeship.
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and flexible enough to work away from base location.
  • Hold a full driver's license.
