About the Role:
Manpower UK Ltd is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to become a vital part of our committed Maintenance Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance tasks on various properties, ensuring modifications are made to accommodate tenants with disabilities or visual impairments.
- Collaborate with the Property Maintenance Manager to address all maintenance and repair requests in accordance with tenancy agreements.
- Execute a variety of maintenance duties, including plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical inspections, groundwork, and painting.
- Engage in decorating tasks such as stain blocking and wall touch-ups.
- Assist in moving heavy items as directed by management.
- Handle the collection, transportation, and delivery of necessary items.
- Restore vacant flats between tenancies and carry out necessary repairs in kitchens and bathrooms.
- Participate in training sessions as required, in coordination with the Director of Property and Development.
- Maintain confidentiality and report any concerns to the Property Maintenance Manager.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and the company's safety policies across all properties.
- Stay informed about current legislation and safety requirements, and be willing to undergo training to enhance knowledge.
- Attend regular fire drills and training sessions.
- Notify the Maintenance Team Administrator and Property Maintenance Manager of any defects in buildings, equipment, or systems.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance operative.
- Experience in a residential or housing environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with tenants who have physical disabilities or visual impairments.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Flexible, innovative, and adaptable approach to work.
- A full clean driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.
- This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range of £28,000 - £33,000, based on skills and experience.
- Additional £100 per week when on call, plus overtime compensation.
- 20 days of annual leave, increasing to 25 days after five years of service.
- 8 bank holidays and observance of Jewish High Holy days when they coincide with working days.
- Pension scheme with a 4% employer contribution.
- Health cash plan and employee discount scheme.
- Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use at 45p per mile.
