Principal Civil Engineer (Water Non-Infra)

Calibre Search Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Civil Engineer to join their design team in Bristol. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on water-related projects in the UK, with a flexible working arrangement that includes a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. As Lead Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering design solutions and associated outputs for non-infrastructure projects within the water team.
  2. You will provide technical guidance and support to colleagues, as well as assist in mentoring and developing others.
  3. You will be involved in projects from conception to completion, including supporting the Project Manager in clarifying project briefs, agreeing deliverables, and establishing project checking and approval arrangements.
  4. You will undertake significant elements of detailed design and checking of outputs, as well as assessing and documenting design changes.
  5. You will also be involved in business development activities, including assisting with the preparation of capability statements and submitting pre-qualification questionnaires and tenders.
  6. Strong interpersonal and team working skills are essential, with the ability to communicate fluently and positively both verbally and in writing.
  7. Comprehensive knowledge and experience of water and wastewater non-infra design, including an understanding of multidisciplinary elements such as process engineering and MEICA.
  8. Extensive experience in design, contract, and tender preparation, tender assessment, and contract administration.
