Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Care Experienced Mentor to join our team. As a Community Role, you will work closely with children and young people, foster carers, social workers, and schools to provide support and guidance during transitions to foster care and reunification with their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Children and Young People
- Provide emotional support and guidance to children and young people during transitions to foster care and reunification with their families.
- Act as a positive role model, sharing experiences and learning to help children and young people build resilience and confidence.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders
- Work closely with foster carers, social workers, and schools to ensure seamless support and guidance for children and young people.
- Communicate effectively with children and young people, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
- Deliver High-Quality Services
- Deliver services according to the required model, as outlined in the Operating Manual.
- Ensure services promote equality, diversity, and rights for all individuals associated with the service.
Requirements
- Experience and Skills
- Have a care-experienced background and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people in care.
- Be able to work as part of a professional network, advocating for children and young people's wishes and feelings.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and stakeholders.
- Education and Qualifications
- Hold a relevant qualification in a field such as social work, youth work, or a related field.
- Personal Qualities
- Be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Have a full driving license and access to a car.
