About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Contractor) to join our client's team in Edinburgh. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and efficient designs for new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex mechanical systems and components for heavy structures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets customer requirements and industry standards
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including 2D and 3D models, and technical specifications
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations to ensure design integrity and performance
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and efficient for production
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
  • Proven experience with assembly of heavy structures and design for sheet metal fabrication
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas industry requirements and regulations
  • Expertise in Solidworks and FEA analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
