Quality Assurance Technician

Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at Veetee. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our food manufacturing process.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily GMP audits of the warehouse, factory exterior, and office block areas to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Regularly inspect packing lines to ensure that all products are manufactured to the correct specification.
- Check and calibrate equipment, including weight checkers and metal detectors, to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Verify the accuracy and readability of date coding and labeling on finished goods.
- Carry out traceable tests to ensure the quality and safety of our products.
- Maintain product samples of daily production and regularly check them for quality or defects.
- Conduct tests on raw materials and packaging quality, and develop technical reviews of suppliers.
- Continuously monitor product quality, checking for metal detection, weight checks, product seals, bar codes, and case contents, and take immediate action to address any deviations from specification.
- Ensure all associated paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Complete batch end procedures and reconcile packed stock, packaging, and raw materials.
- Meet production deadlines and minimize wastage.
- Ensure the tidiness of the work area and assist in training others on equipment.
- Assist in non-conformance investigations and resolutions as required.
Requirements:
- Previous QA or food handling experience within a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Intermediate certificate in Food Hygiene and an understanding of HACCP principles.
- Numerate and literate, with the ability to follow instructions.
- Basic IT skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Flexibility to cover different shift patterns and overtime as required.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
