Job Title: Lead Mechanical Design and Analysis Engineer

Job Summary:

Premier Group Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Design and Analysis Engineer to join our client's team in Portsmouth. As a key member of the design engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of mechanical systems and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and products using NX software
  • Implement PDM software to manage design data and processes
  • Recruit and grow the design engineering team
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure smooth production
  • Contribute to the final assembly of products
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and project reports
  • Update 3D models and drawings as required
  • Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs
  • Check drawings for sign off

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
  • Strong 3D CAD skills with Siemens NX ideally, or similar software
  • PDM / PLM experience would be beneficial
  • Ideally be experienced in Marine, Subsea, Aerospace, Automotive, or related industries
  • Knowledge of composites would also be beneficial
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
