Contribute to the Health and Well-being of Soldiers

As a Pharmacy Technician within the Army, your ability to maintain focus in high-pressure environments will be essential.

  • Receive exceptional training designed to prepare you for the critical role of supporting the health and fitness of military personnel.
  • Your journey begins with essential soldier skills training, which includes various competencies from fieldcraft to weapon handling.
  • Following this, you will engage in a comprehensive two-and-a-half-year trade training program, which will include obtaining a BTEC in Pharmacy Services and a Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Studies, alongside practical experience in multiple pharmacies across the UK.

Upon achieving full qualification, your role will encompass working in a variety of environments, including medical centers, Defence Medical Group Hospital Units, field hospitals, medical regiments, and logistics units globally.

In addition to gaining extensive experience as a Pharmacy Technician, you will also develop leadership and management capabilities while pursuing further qualifications.

Begin Your Unique Career Path

Serving as an Army Pharmacy Technician allows you to initiate your military career by first mastering soldier training. After completing your basic training, you will advance to specialized trade training.

  • The trade training spans two and a half years, during which you will earn a BTEC in Pharmacy Services, a Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Studies, and participate in practical internships at UK pharmacies.
  • Throughout your service, you will have opportunities to further enhance your qualifications, including the possibility of obtaining a Level 5 Diploma in Training and Education.

Additionally, enjoy benefits such as 38 days of annual leave each year (in addition to bank holidays and extra leave after deployments), access to complimentary medical and dental care, reduced living costs, and free access to gym and sports facilities.

With a standard work schedule from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, except during operational or training commitments, you will benefit from a well-structured routine.
