Job Title: Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Are you a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist looking for a new challenge in Mental Health - ASD Services? We have an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Wyke.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to deliver an evidence-based SLT service to meet the needs of our complex client group within an in-patient setting. As a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will have a unique opportunity to work with individuals with mental illness and a secondary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver an evidence-based SLT service to meet the needs of our complex client group
  • Work with individuals with mental illness and a secondary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder
  • Supervise an SLT (Band 5 equivalent) providing input to Adarna Ward
  • Accountable to the Director of Speech and Language Therapy (Healthcare) and the onsite service manager

Requirements:
  • A registered Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
  • Experienced in the field of adult mental health and/or ASD

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
