Position Overview
Forbes Solicitors is seeking a Finance Assistant to become a vital part of our Finance Team. This full-time position involves working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Finance Assistant will undertake a variety of essential tasks, including:

  • Executing daily banking operations;
  • Facilitating online electronic bank transactions, including CHAPS, BACS, and Faster Payments;
  • Conducting bank reconciliations for both client and business accounts;
  • Performing reconciliations of client ledgers;
  • Managing petty cash administration;
  • Processing accounting transactions for clients and the office, including postings;
  • Handling transfers from client accounts to office accounts;
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations;
  • Maintaining the Month End SRA Compliance Folder;
  • Addressing internal and external inquiries related to accounts;

Essential Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a legal cashier role;
  • Strong numerical aptitude;
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines;
  • Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and provide support as needed;

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with accounting procedures;
  • Experience as a legal cashier with knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules;
  • Prior experience with case management systems, preferably Partner for Windows;
  • Proven ability to identify areas for improvement and implement changes;
