Position Overview

We are seeking a Smart Metering Test Engineer with a strong background in the UK Smart Metering domain. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience Level: Relevant experience in the field.
  • Location: Manchester, UK.
  • Domain Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of UK SMART Metering, including DUIS and GBCS, as well as familiarity with smart meter technical specifications.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Java for developing Gherkin keywords and generating test scripts.
  • Testing Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in testing smart meters (Electric, Gas, comms hub, and PPMID/IHD/CAD).
  • Technical Specifications: Experience working with DUIS and GBCS, and SMETS technical specifications.
  • Test Artifacts: Skilled in creating essential test documentation such as Test Approach, Test Plan, Test Specification, Test Completion Report, and Test Strategy.
  • Test Management Tools: Familiarity with Jira for test management.
  • Programming Knowledge: Working knowledge of Java and Python is advantageous.
  • Regulatory Understanding: Knowledge of the SMART Energy Code (SEC).
