Job Title: Academic Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Academic Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring whole school attendance, persistent absence, and punctuality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor attendance for students and identify those who require support
  • Liaise with Senior Leadership Team, Heads of House, Tutors, SENCo, inclusion team, and other relevant staff regarding students of concern
  • Raise attendance issues with parents and meet with students and parents to support them in improving attendance
  • Meet with Education Welfare Officer on a weekly basis and refer students who are not meeting attendance targets
Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to pay for it
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
