Private Sector Resettlement Officer

Job Summary:

Argyll and Bute Council is seeking a Private Sector Resettlement Officer to support the Council's efforts in addressing the housing emergency and depopulation in the region. The successful candidate will engage with the private sector to increase housing options, retain population, and sustain private sector housing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Council in gathering vital local intelligence regarding barriers to housing and employment opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with private sector stakeholders to increase housing supply and create new opportunities for households.
  • Conduct research and analyze data to inform the development of housing and employment strategies.
  • Collaborate with public agencies, service providers, and communities to address barriers and enable housing and employment opportunities.
  • Provide a single point of contact for private sector stakeholders to encourage and support their engagement in housing and employment initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 Highers or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with a range of clients.
  • Experience of carrying out research or handling data, including the ability to analyze data and write reports.
  • Understanding of local networks within the community and ability to connect into them.
  • Working knowledge of private sector housing across Argyll and Bute, including housing standards, legislative requirements, and access to housing services.
  • Ability to work flexibly, on own initiative, and as part of a team with colleagues, partners, and the public.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • HND or Degree in a relevant subject.
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate work experience.
  • Project Management and Business Development experience.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of rural lifestyles and issues.
  • Driving License.
