Practice Accountant Role

ProTalent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Practice Accountant to join our team in a dynamic and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Aylesbury.

About the Role

Your core responsibilities as a Practice Accountant will include:

  • Preparing financial statements for a variety of clients for review by senior managers
  • Preparing corporate tax computations for review
  • Preparing partnership and sole trader financial statements
  • Preparing personal and partnership tax returns
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
  • Managing financial statements and planning audit assignments
  • Delivering audit files in accordance with UK GAAP
  • Supervising junior staff during audits and reviewing their work
  • Managing client communication effectively
  • Monitoring assignment budgets proactively
  • Highlighting any deficiencies in client records or areas for concern to senior managers and recommending actions for improvement
  • Mentoring junior accountants and audit trainees
Requirements
  • Qualified by experience
  • Previous experience working in a practice environment
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Good team player
  • Desire to learn and develop
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to take notes
  • Interest in working with diverse clients across various business sectors
  • Mobile and flexible to work in other company offices and client sites when required
