Plumber (Mechanical Engineer)

HMP Parkhurst, a Category B adult Male prison

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team on a temporary basis until 31 March 2025 at HMP Parkhurst. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing water systems within the prison.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and repair water systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment
3. Respond to emergency calls and resolve issues promptly
4. Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth operation of facilities

Requirements:

Level 3 qualifications in Plumbing and Mechanical Engineering

Experience in water systems maintenance and repair

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication and problem-solving skills

Contract:

Fixed term contract until 31st March 2025

Full time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
