About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Market Reporter/Senior Reporter to join our team covering the European, Americas, Middle East, and Black Sea markets. As a key member of our global steel and ferrous raw materials team, you will be responsible for producing daily price assessments, market commentaries, news, and reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and assess markets to produce daily price assessments, market commentaries, news, and reports
  • Daily contact with traders, brokers, industrial groups, and other key market participants to build relationships and gather news
  • Contribute copy to relevant daily and periodical publications and the online news service
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and industry events to build contacts, report on news, and represent Argus Media externally
Requirements
  • A graduate with a strong degree and at least 2-3 years reporting experience
  • Proven ability to develop, source, and write industry-relevant news to deadline
  • Knowledge of coking coal is useful but not essential
  • Excellent written, grammatical, and numeracy skills, and ability to write engaging content
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to network and build contacts with industry executives
  • Prior experience of working in the financial or energy journalism sector is useful but not essential
  • Strong coordination and time management skills with the ability to work well within a team
  • Additional languages useful but not essential
