Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Lead Cost Consultant to join our team at Sustainable Resourcing. This role focuses on overseeing significant refurbishment and revitalization projects within the social housing sector, including external facades, rainscreen systems, roofing, scaffolding, and related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of 2-3 projects valued up to £10 million with minimal supervision. The primary duties include:
- Collaborating closely with construction and project management teams to ensure the commercial success of assigned contracts.
- Coordinating with senior colleagues to guarantee accurate budget and financial reporting.
- Engaging with finance, procurement, and estimating departments as necessary.
Core Duties:
The Lead Cost Consultant will manage and monitor project plans, budgets, costs, and contract terms, working alongside senior surveyors. Specific tasks include:
- Overseeing orders, deliveries, and invoicing of materials.
- Managing subcontractor agreements, approvals, and payments.
- Conducting valuations of work completed and preparing necessary documentation for cash flow and sales forecasts.
- Engaging with clients and ensuring proper documentation is signed.
Essential Competencies:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Technical expertise, ideally holding or nearing completion of qualifications such as AIOB, FIOB, RICS, or a degree in surveying, with experience as a senior or managing surveyor in the construction sector.
- Possession of a valid CSCS card as required.
- Familiarity with project management tools, including GANTT charts for financial tracking.
- CRB/Disclosure checks as necessary for specific project sites.
General IT Skills:
Proficiency in the following software is expected:
- Intermediate level in MS Excel.
- Competent use of MS Word and Microsoft Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of MS Project.
Non-Technical Skills:
