Position Overview:The successful candidate will be entrusted with providing independent, evidence-based, and woman-centered midwifery care while collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary team, various agencies, and service users. Additionally, the Midwife will offer support to fellow midwives within the service and may assume management responsibilities for the midwifery practice or team in the absence of the Band 7 Midwife.
Key Responsibilities:- Engage as a member of a midwifery team to deliver care and guidance to women throughout their pregnancy, labor, childbirth, and postnatal period in diverse environments, including homes, communities, hospitals, and Children's Centres.
- Demonstrate the expertise and skills necessary to support women during their childbirth journey and maintain accountability for professional practice.
- Work closely with obstetric colleagues to address complications and ensure safe practices in any chosen setting.
- Participate in the ongoing development of maternity services through involvement in various initiatives.
- Exhibit flexibility by working across different areas as required to fulfill the demands of the service.
- Current NMC registration as a Midwife.
- Demonstrated experience in midwifery practice.
- Comprehensive theoretical knowledge of midwifery.
- Experience across all clinical areas.
- Ability to foster the development of students, fellow midwives, and personal growth.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with patients and colleagues at all levels and from various professions. Adaptable communication style, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
