Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Primary Designer to join our team at GHD. As a Principal or Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the primary design scope for substation projects, ensuring designs meet client expectations and regulatory standards.
  • Design Excellence: Oversee and review design and drafting work produced by team members, maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Project Delivery: Deliver high-quality substation primary designs within project schedules and budgets, ensuring excellence from concept to completion.
  • CAD Standards: Ensure all designs adhere to CAD standards, enabling seamless integration and consistency across projects.
  • Deliverable Quality: Produce high-quality deliverables that meet the rigorous demands of our clients and the industry.

Requirements:

  • Design Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency with Microstation or AutoCAD drafting packages, vital for creating precise and reliable designs.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth experience in the design and drafting of substations operating at 66 kV and above, with a thorough understanding of substation high voltage plant and equipment.
  • Standards Compliance: Comprehensive knowledge of relevant standards, industry guidelines, and current industry practices, ensuring compliance and cutting-edge design solutions.
  • Team Leadership: A commitment to mentoring junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and technical excellence within the team.
