Position: SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Education

GSL Education is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a nurturing and engaging primary school environment. The school has received an Ofsted rating of 'Good' and is located in Leicester.

This role is essential in ensuring that all students have access to tailored learning experiences that meet their unique needs. The school supports a diverse range of SEN, including Autism, PMLD, MLD, Downs Syndrome, ADHD, and other behavioral challenges. The complexity of needs varies among the students, creating a dynamic and rewarding working environment.

This is a flexible bank position that has the potential to evolve into a full-time role.
Typical working hours are from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group support within the classroom.
  • Assist students with daily routines and activities.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and implement educational activities.
  • Help create and maintain engaging classroom displays.
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to a safe and supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Support both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students as needed.

Each classroom is staffed with a Teacher, two Learning Support Assistants, and a strong leadership team to ensure comprehensive support.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:

Experience working with various SEN profiles and a current DBS registered with the update service.
Applications are welcomed from both Primary and Secondary trained Teaching Assistants, as well as graduates, university students, youth support workers, residential care staff, and those with experience in child and youth services.

GSL Education is committed to the safety and welfare of children. All candidates must undergo an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS, with full support provided.

This role begins on a supply or bank basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a long-term position for the right candidate.
