Associate Director Procurement Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director Procurement to join our team at Maxim Recruitment. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a large, multidisciplinary construction consultancy based in Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in Defence, Utilities, Infrastructure, Mining & Minerals, and other Natural Resources. They will be responsible for delivering end-to-end procurement services to public and private sector clients, with a focus on central and local government, defence, infrastructure, power, and utilities.

The Associate Director Procurement will lead a highly skilled team of strategic procurement professionals and will be responsible for providing specialist procurement strategy advice to clients. They will also lead and manage end-to-end procurement services on major projects or programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to clients.
  • Lead and manage end-to-end procurement services on major projects or programmes.
  • Lead and support the development of procurement services.
  • Lead on bid preparation and proposal documentation and support the work-winning capability of the contract services division.
Requirements
  • Experience in regulated procurement, particularly Public Contract Regulations 2015.
  • Previous experience in leading strategic major procurement projects or programmes for public and private sector clients.
  • A strong background in tender preparation, development, and management, ideally including negotiation.
  • Commission, client relationship, and people management.
  • Cross-sector experience with a strong public procurement background is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in Defence, Utilities, Infrastructure, Mining, Oil & Gas sectors.
