Job Title: Work Area Manager - Weekend/Night Shift

Join Royal Mail Group as a Work Area Manager - Weekend/Night Shift and take on a challenging role that requires strong leadership and operational skills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing operations in a variety of manual and automated areas within the plant, ensuring a high-quality service to our customers and meeting all operational targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a dedicated team of full and part-time employees, holding regular one-to-one and team meetings to review area performance and plans.
  • Hold line management responsibility for team members' sick absence, attendance, and training, while engaging with the team to drive performance.
  • Implement health and safety initiatives, increase efficiency, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the Shift Manager in providing a high-quality service to our customers and ensuring all operational targets are met.
Requirements:
  • Proven leadership and management experience, with a track record of improving performance and achieving KPIs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate team members to work to high standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a flexible approach to meet operational demands.
  • Experience of introducing change and successfully leading people through change.
  • Data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to identify trends in performance and develop solutions.
  • Relationship-building skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve business benefits.
Working Hours:

The successful candidate will be required to work a weekend/night shift pattern, including Friday 22:30 - 07:30, Saturday 20:30 - 08:30, Sunday 20:00 - 07:00, and Monday 18:00 - 03:00.
