As a GCE A Level Geography (2016 Specification) Moderator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of centre assessments. Your expertise in the subject will be utilised to review and moderate centre samples, ensuring that they meet the agreed assessment criteria and Pearson's procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the moderation of parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects, and special studies, which are marked initially by teachers in the centres and then sent to you.
  • Undertake, when necessary, the direct assessment of school-based components in the subject where centres opt not to make initial assessments.

Requirements

  • Hold one academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years, within the relevant qualification and subject, or since qualifying as a teacher.
  • Hold a degree or equivalent.
  • Be a qualified teacher.

Competencies

  • Have the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Have the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Have a high level of subject knowledge in order to apply the mark scheme.
