Job SummaryThis role will provide support and advice to operational teams, supervisors, and managers on relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental responsibilities. The successful candidate will establish, manage, and monitor standards, processes, communications, training, and systems to ensure the company's responsibilities are legally compliant, clear, concise, and fully maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Provide timely and consistent advice, support, coaching, and governance of Safety and Health standards and legislation to support all activities across operational departments.
- Support processes relating to Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste streams.
- Promote employee awareness and engagement in the importance of following HSE protocols, further promoting a culture of safety excellence.
- Advise operational team leaders, supervisors, and managers on all aspects of HSE.
- Implement practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, to promote effective HSE working practices.
- Conduct and organize relevant HSE training for staff as required, including risk assessment and environmental awareness.
- Support on-site risk assessors to ensure risk assessments are completed and reviewed in line with legislative requirements and maintain records.
- Conduct and carry out internal and compliance audits on-site; report on findings and manage issue log through to completion.
- Coordinate and manage first aid and fire safety representatives for the Bentham site.
- Recommend and implement control measures and PPE issued to employees.
- Carry out and support near miss, incidents, and accident investigations and record and communicate the findings.
- Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports and documents as required.
- NEBOSH Qualification.
- Practical experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of HSE legislation.
- Ability to produce written reports in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience implementing and revising HSE policies and procedures.
- Proven experience in delivering advice and guidance to managers/supervisors.
- Proven background of driving a safety culture.
- Proven experience of using IT, such as MS Office packages.
- Good communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently both verbally and in writing.
- Motivated, driven, and hands-on, with a desire to make a positive difference.
- Professional approach, with the ability to work co-operatively with others to complete tasks and implement process improvements.
- Good negotiation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders, motivate, and empower staff to promote a positive HSE workplace.
- Logical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Attention to detail with the ability to understand and analyze complex information and present it simply and accurately.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively.
