Job Title: Swimming Coach - Primary School
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swimming Coach to join our team at Devon County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality swimming lessons to primary school pupils, promoting water safety and confidence, and contributing to the development of our swimming programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver swimming lessons to primary school pupils, adapting teaching styles to meet the needs of all participants.
- Support pupils with varying abilities to develop water confidence and improve their swimming techniques.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and swimming assistants to support and monitor pupil progress.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of the swimming pool, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience teaching swimming lessons.
- ASA/Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification.
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or RLSS UK National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 3 First aid qualification.
- Poll Plant Operator Certificate.
Working Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (30 minutes), with flexibility to accommodate the needs of the school and swimming programs.
Salary: The starting salary for this position will be determined based on the candidate's current skills and experience, and it may align with either Grade F or Grade G within the NJC pay scales.
