About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Adoption Recruitment and Assessment Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for recruiting, preparing, and assessing prospective adopters, as well as linking and matching approved adopters with children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, prepare, and assess prospective adopters to ensure they are suitable for adoption.
  • Link and match approved adopters with children in need of a permanent home.
  • Provide support to prospective adopters throughout the adoption process.
  • Prepare reports for adoption panels and courts to ensure the best interests of the child are represented.
  • Assess and support Early Permanence carers to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Provide duty support across the region to ensure the needs of children and families are met.
  • Assess non-agency adopters to ensure they meet the necessary criteria.
Requirements
  • A Social Work Qualification (degree or equivalent) and current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience of working as a Social Worker or having had a student social work placement with children and families.
  • An understanding of early life experiences, such as trauma or abuse, and their impact on children and young people.
  • The ability to analyze complex information to make recommendations and informed decisions.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, sharing knowledge and managing cases.
  • The ability to use your own initiative and work independently.
  • Experience of managing your own caseload and working to deadlines.
