We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Adoption Recruitment and Assessment Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for recruiting, preparing, and assessing prospective adopters, as well as linking and matching approved adopters with children.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, prepare, and assess prospective adopters to ensure they are suitable for adoption.
- Link and match approved adopters with children in need of a permanent home.
- Provide support to prospective adopters throughout the adoption process.
- Prepare reports for adoption panels and courts to ensure the best interests of the child are represented.
- Assess and support Early Permanence carers to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Provide duty support across the region to ensure the needs of children and families are met.
- Assess non-agency adopters to ensure they meet the necessary criteria.
- A Social Work Qualification (degree or equivalent) and current registration with Social Work England.
- Experience of working as a Social Worker or having had a student social work placement with children and families.
- An understanding of early life experiences, such as trauma or abuse, and their impact on children and young people.
- The ability to analyze complex information to make recommendations and informed decisions.
- The ability to work as part of a team, sharing knowledge and managing cases.
- The ability to use your own initiative and work independently.
- Experience of managing your own caseload and working to deadlines.
- A supportive and collaborative work environment.
