About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Neurodevelopmental Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children with neurodevelopmental needs and contribute to the development of our multi-disciplinary service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to children with neurodevelopmental needs, consistent with local and national specifications.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary formulation of children with identified neurodevelopmental needs.
  • Develop and implement occupational therapy interventions, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles.
  • Provide specialist advice to Occupational Therapy staff and other disciplines/agencies.
  • Develop specialist clinical skills and lead clinical audit and research initiatives.
Requirements
  • Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC registration.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at degree level.
  • Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice, demonstrating the required breadth of knowledge to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice.
  • Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery.
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Practice Education training and experience within specific care groups/specialities.
  • Evidence of audit, critical appraisal, reflective practice, and/or research skills.
  • Sound knowledge of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency team working practices.
Contract and Working Pattern

This is a part-time post, working 22.5 hours per week. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9:00-5:00. The salary for this position will be pro-rata.
