Role Overview
In this position, you will serve as a Prison Security Officer, ensuring the safety and security of contractors within a correctional facility environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Prison Security Officer, your duties will include:
- Documentation: Keeping accurate records of contractors' tools and equipment.
- Escorting: Safely guiding contractors to their designated work areas while ensuring all security measures are adhered to.
- Security Management: Overseeing the secure handling of contractors and their equipment during their time on-site.
- Exit Procedures: Assisting contractors back to the main exit, ensuring all security gates and doors are properly secured.
- Flexibility: Being available for various support service tasks as needed within the operational areas.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong sense of security awareness, the ability to identify potential risks, and a reliable work ethic. You will be required to obtain security clearance, which will be facilitated by Hays.
Qualifications:
Applicants must provide a valid passport or a combination of a birth certificate and a photo driving license that reflects their current address.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of £11.44, with weekly payments. You will receive comprehensive training relevant to the role, providing valuable experience in a correctional environment that may enhance your prospects for future employment within the Ministry of Justice.
Working Hours
Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM, including a 1-hour unpaid break. Please note that hours may vary based on specific projects and operational needs.
