We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team as a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our multidisciplinary team, providing holistic care to patients in a primary care setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advice and support to GPs and other practice staff regarding the assessment and management of mental health difficulties of patients registered with their practices.
- Conduct clinical assessments of patients and provide follow-up as appropriate.
- Assist in the prioritization of new referrals to the service and maintain effective communication with GPs, primary care staff, patients, and their carers.
- Work flexibly within timetabled working hours to prioritize urgent clinical matters.
- Participate in management activities and governance processes related to the Practice-Based Mental Health service.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice.
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry.
- Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility) - qualifies to act as a Responsible Clinician.
- Registered with the Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD programme and in good standing.
