Job Summary
Kent County Council is seeking a passionate and skilled Community Development Worker to join our Family Hub District team in Kent.
This is an exciting opportunity to build and expand the offer of services for children, young people, and families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and strengthen local Family Hub networks through collaboration with partners and community organizations.
- Encourage community engagement and co-design initiatives to inform and develop Family Hub services.
- Expand volunteer opportunities to empower parents, carers, and young people to lead and participate in peer-to-peer groups and other Family Hub activities.
Requirements
- High level of organizational skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team and self-directed.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children and their families.
- Ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate effective participation and engagement opportunities.
Working Arrangements
This is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid working available.
This post is considered a customer-facing position, and the Council has a statutory duty to ensure the post holder has a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
