Surface Finishing Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Execute comprehensive painting and finishing tasks
  • Detect and rectify imperfections in painted surfaces
  • Prepare walls and ceilings for painting or wall covering applications
  • Apply emulsion paints to interior walls and ceilings
  • Strip old paint from windows, doors, and architectural features
  • Finish both external and internal surfaces with precision
  • Pre-treat new timber before installation with appropriate coatings
  • Stain external hardwood doors and window frames
  • Enhance walls and ceilings with decorative wall coverings
  • Address mould and moisture-related issues effectively
  • Maintain and protect external timber structures
  • Engage with clients to plan and execute work in alignment with their specifications and expectations

Qualifications for Surface Finishing Specialist:

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship and possession of a qualification in painting and decorating
  • Proficient in all facets of painting and decorating, with a background in maintenance of residential properties
  • Experience in general painting tasks and capability to work in confined spaces
  • Prior experience in social housing projects is advantageous
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory
  • CSCS card, asbestos awareness training, and personal tools are preferred
