Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SpLD Tutor to provide face-to-face support to students with SpLD, working closely with students, parents, and teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' specific learning difficulties and develop tailored education plans.
  • Implement evidence-based teaching strategies and adaptive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Provide targeted interventions to help students develop key academic and organizational skills, including time management, organization, and study skills.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support and advocate for students' needs within the educational system.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in SpLD education, incorporating new knowledge and strategies into teaching practices.

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Specialized training or certification in Specific Learning Difficulties (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD).
  • Membership in professional organizations such as PATOSS, Dyslexia Guild, or ADSHE.
  • Proven experience working with students with SpLD in a tutoring or classroom setting.
  • Strong understanding of multisensory teaching techniques and adaptive technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and teachers.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
