Automotive Panel Repair Expert

Location: Norwich

Compensation: £45,000 OTE £55,000

About the Role:

We are on the lookout for a talented Automotive Panel Repair Expert to become a vital part of our client's esteemed repair team. The successful candidate will be tasked with restoring and repairing high-end vehicle bodies to their pre-accident condition after incidents or damage.

This role demands an experienced professional capable of executing comprehensive panel repairs on vehicles that have sustained accident damage. Qualifications such as ATA, NVQ Level 3, or IMI Level 3 will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair or replace bodywork panels of damaged vehicles based on provided instructions or job card details, including chassis and framework.
  • Stripping and fitting panels and bodywork components.
  • Efficiently repair vehicles, ensuring no defects upon completion, including changing quarter panels, filler work, and complete vehicle disassembly and reassembly.
  • Perform panel straightening and apply filler to repair dents.
  • Replace damaged panels as necessary.
  • Conduct welding and bonding of vehicle structures.
  • Remove and replace complete body shells.
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines and modification bulletins for repairs and replacements of chassis and panels.
  • Ensure all equipment, including jigs, fixtures, and welding tools, is operated according to defined safety standards.
  • Carry out all panel repair work on various vehicle makes, demonstrating a full range of vehicle body repair skills, including jig work.
  • Restore and replace body components to bring damaged vehicles back to pre-accident condition, adhering to Kitemark BS10125 and manufacturer standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven knowledge and experience in vehicle panel repairs.
  • Relevant panel repair qualifications such as IMI Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or ATA Panel Beater Accreditation are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience as a panel beater is essential.
  • Familiarity with health and safety responsibilities.
  • Manufacturer experience is a plus.
