Brunton Park Health Centre: Nursing Associate Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Associate to join our multidisciplinary team at Brunton Park Health Centre. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Practice:
    • Provide and deliver a high standard of nursing care, contributing to ongoing assessment, and monitoring care based on evidence.
    • Monitor the condition and health needs of patients, ensuring appropriate escalation to a registered nurse or other professional when required.
    • Support patients to improve and maintain their mental, physical, and behavioral health and well-being.
  • Communication:
    • Utilize and demonstrate sensitive communication styles to ensure patients are fully informed and consent to treatment.
    • Communicate effectively with patients and carers, recognizing the need for alternative methods of communication.
  • Delivering a Quality Service:
    • Recognize and work within own competence and professional code of conduct as regulated by the NMC.
    • Prioritize, organize, and manage own workload to maintain and promote quality.
  • Team Working:
    • Work as an effective and responsible team member, supporting others and exploring new ways of working.
    • Delegate clearly and appropriately, adopting the principles of safe practice and assessment of competence.
  • Learning and Development:
    • Take responsibility for own learning and performance, including participating in clinical supervision and acting as a positive role model.
    • Undertake mentorship for more junior staff, assessing competence against set standards.
  • Equality and Diversity:
    • Identify patterns of discrimination and take action to overcome this and promote diversity and equality of opportunity.
    • Enable others to promote equality and diversity in a non-discriminatory culture.
Person Specification:
  • Qualifications:
    • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register.
    • Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification.
    • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team.
    • Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice.
    • Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and carers, and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience:
    • Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate.
    • Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information.
