Diabetes Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced nurse with a passion for diabetes care to join our team as a Paediatrics Diabetes Nurse Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients with diabetes.
The successful candidate will have a strong clinical knowledge of diabetes and experience in working with children and young people. They will be able to work autonomously and as part of a team to assess, plan, and implement treatment plans for patients with diabetes.
The role will involve contributing to the organisation and delivery of specialist education and training to other healthcare professionals and carers on all aspects of diabetes management. The successful candidate will also be able to work closely with consultants, clinical nurse specialists, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver effective care and management of inpatients with diabetes.

Person Specification- Current NMC registration
- Post-basic qualification in diabetes or equivalent portfolio of evidence
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Notable years of experience in post-registration
- Non-Medical Prescribing or willingness to undertake
- Experience of working in the field of diabetes and good clinical knowledge
- Evidence of proactive involvement in the mentorship of nurses
- Excellent interpersonal skills, evidence of development of own skill and knowledge
