About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Surgeon to join our team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. As a Surgical Registrar, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with acute and chronic conditions, including complex cases.
  • Referral of patients to other specialties as appropriate.
  • Participate in out-patient activities and clinics.
  • Involve in specialty and cross-specialty multi-disciplinary teams and meetings.
  • Contribute to relevant administrative duties.
  • Teach and supervise junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate.
  • Active involvement in audit and clinical governance, including service improvement activities.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience in acute and elective General Surgery at CT2 or equivalent level for at least 12 months with recent experience in the NHS.
  • Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Good time management.
  • Possess good organisational skills.

We also require:

  • Medical Degree from recognised medical school.
  • Successful completion of post registration training.
  • ATLS certification.
  • Higher qualification.
  • MRCS or equivalent.
  • Full GMC Registration with licence to practise.
