About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing strategic and daily procurement activities to ensure that Saab Seaeye has world-class supplier quality and delivery capabilities at the lowest possible cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish strategic alliances with key suppliers to improve overall supply chain performance in line with company objectives.
- Actively manage supplier performance and continuously work with existing or new suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Negotiate long-term purchase orders/contracts with key suppliers to ensure delivery of critical customer contracts.
- Build strong supplier relationships and work closely with the Quality and Material Planning functions to implement business improvements.
- Collaborate and communicate with other Saab supply chain functions in the UK and worldwide to develop efficiency opportunities and exploit synergies.
- Manage a team supporting production material buying, strategic supply chain management, and procurement for new products.
- Assess, identify, and monitor staff skills and training requirements to avoid exposure and skill shortages to the business.
- Keep good time management to minimise any wasted time and maximise productivity and effectiveness.
