NHS Scotland is a prominent healthcare provider, employing a diverse workforce of approximately 40,000 individuals across various clinical and non-clinical roles. Our services encompass acute hospital care, primary care, community services, and mental health support for a population exceeding 1.15 million.
As part of our commitment to employee well-being, we are transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, with no impact on remuneration. This change will also apply to part-time employees on a pro-rata basis. Please note that certain service areas may require a temporary adjustment to working hours, which will be compensated accordingly.
The role involves a rotational shift pattern across a 5-day work week, including various shifts from Monday to Sunday.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality patient care through the effective delivery of Catering Services. We seek a proactive and innovative individual with exceptional communication skills and proficiency in IT applications, including menu management and Microsoft Office Suite. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with staff, maintain high standards of work, adapt to changing circumstances, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision of staff and management of challenging situations.
- Training and performance reviews of team members.
- Conducting audits related to service delivery and food safety compliance.
- Ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Performing departmental audits of kitchen operations and addressing patient feedback.
The candidate must possess a solid understanding of Food Safety regulations and hold a certification in Intermediate Food Hygiene. Knowledge and experience in Health & Safety, Infection Control, COSHH, and the operation of relevant machinery are essential.
