Consultant in Intellectual Disability Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Intellectual Disability Psychiatry to join our team at Hywel Dda University Health Board. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing specialist community psychiatric care to individuals with intellectual disabilities residing in Pembrokeshire.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Health Board's service plans.
- Contribute to the Consultant on-call rota and maintain the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty or the Health Board.
- Develop and implement clinical pathways for individuals with intellectual disabilities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Engage in teaching and training activities, including the supervision of medical students and junior doctors, and contribute to the development of educational programs.
- Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with best practices and evidence-based guidelines.

Requirements- Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice.
- On specialist register or SpR due to obtain relevant CCT within 6 months of interview.
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Valid certified advanced life support skills.
