About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our School Transport team, providing a safe and efficient driving service to children and young adult passengers.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive allocated vehicles to and from various locations, adhering to specified schedules and ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, building trusting relationships and exercising persuasive skills to ensure a positive experience.
- Undertake driving duties in a safe and considerate manner, adhering to Highway Code regulations and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and development, including Disability Awareness, Epilepsy Awareness, First Aid, Wheelchair tie down procedures, and Challenging Behaviour as required.
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence, including category D1 or PCV.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills, gained through education or relevant experience.
- Ability to resolve straightforward problems and work independently.
- Desirable: experience of working with people with disabilities, operating a tail lift/ramp safely, and securing wheelchairs on the vehicle.
